Dare to Hold Space with Confidence
Group Programme

For the deeply caring and empathetic coaches, practitioners and facilitators - learn to stay grounded, boundaried and connected to yourself when holding space for others.

Does this sound familiar?

“I start feeling panicked internally when a conversation starts to feel emotionally intense. I don’t want to be rude, but don’t want to feel overwhelmed either.”

“I feel responsible for what someone else feels during a conversation. I get too emotionally involved.”

“I don’t always know how to support others when they have big emotions and I feel worried that I might say the wrong thing or make it worse.”

“I feel guilty for ending a conversation, referring someone elsewhere, or saying I can’t help.”

“I enjoy my work and want to help, but at times I feel emotionally and physically exhausted from my work.”

“I take my clients’ stories home after work. I don’t really know how to clear it, other than passing it onto my partner.”

“I don’t always know how to support someone safely who has a highly sensitive nervous system.”

“I don’t know how to spot the signs of burnout in myself or others until I’m already on empty.”

You are so good at being the person who listens, supports, understands and holds space for others, but when emotions get big, you don’t always know what to say, or take responsibility for how other people feel.

Absorbing other people’s emotions & giving more than you have to give can quickly turn into overwhelm and exhaustion.

You really want to trust yourself, strengthen your boundaries & stay grounded when things get heavy — so you can keep doing work you deeply care about without carrying everyone else’s stuff or losing yourself in the process.

Programme Outcomes

  • Create a safe, supportive foundation for the work and get clear on what you want to change, strengthen or create through the programme.

  • Learn how to recognise and access your own resources, restore your energy, and support others to connect with their own resources.

  • Understand what your own breathing patterns are telling you, and how it can affect the space you're holding.

  • Learn to stay grounded when the conversation becomes heavy and how to spot the signs in others.

  • Learn to listen to what's happening beneath the words — in yourself and the person you're working with.

  • Stay connected to your own experience while making space for theirs.

  • Learn how to support highly sensitive nervous systems.

  • Stay present when you can't fix, solve or make it better. Build your capacity to stay with manageable discomfort, uncertainty, emotional intensity and silence without automatically moving into fixing, rescuing, over-functioning or avoidance. Learn to tolerate the discomfort of not being responsible for the outcome.

  • Learn to recognise early signs of depletion/burnout in yourself and those you support and make more intentional choices about where your energy goes.

  • Understand where your role begins and ends, and develop boundaries around your time, energy, availability, emotional capacity and expertise.

  • Develop confidence in your ability to trust yourself when you need to make important ethical decisions.

  • Build the courage to say what needs to be said, even when it might disappoint someone.

  • Bring everything together and create your own definition of healthy responsibility, sustainable success, confidence, boundaries, care and impact.
